About We Are Brontë
An over-ambitious attempt by two would-be performers to present a physical interpretation of the Brontë myth without having done the proper research. Expect mad women, spooky houses and really bad coughs.

Taking the real and fictitious worlds of Yorkshire’s literary siblings as their inspiration, two performers combine rigorous physical theatre with anarchic comedy to deconstruct not only gothic themes of love, madness and revenge, but also themselves.

"intelligent, offbeat humour...supremely entertaining" ★★★★ Fringe Guru

"This is Brontë as you've never seen it before - and will never forget...Sarah Corbett and Angus Barr have devised a show the like of which may never come again...exquisite physical comedy...mad, delightfully silly, and very accomplished" ★★★★  SGFringe

"excruciatingly funny...engagingly absurd and imaginative"  British Theatre Guide

"Bizarre. Wonderfully so. It's entirely strange, and weirdly charming - yawing from moments of simply executed but poignant visual beauty, to wry self-commentary." Exeunt

"a sharply witty and hugely enjoyable piece of physical theatre which, with immense skill, teeters just on the edge of insanity." ★★★★ EdFringe Review  EDITOR’S CHOICE

"Straight-faced knockabout fun...National Theatre of Brent for the devising generation, the show ruthlessly skewers trope after physical theatre trope." The Stage

"Truly fascinating and engaging to watch." ★★★★ Epigram
